More information on the proposed format for WSF2004

During the International Council meeting, the Indian Organizing Committee (IOC) presented a set of information on the event, which will be held from January 16 to 21, 2004, in Mumbai, as well as a general proposal of format for the activities. Panels, testimonies, conferences, public meetings and others. It is expected that about 75,000 delegates will participate in the WSF 2004. A Youth Camp also is being organized.

The main foci proposed by the IOC for WSF 2004 are: Imperialist globalisation, Patriarchy, Casteism, Racism and Social Exclusions, Religious sectarianism, Identity Politics, Fundamentalism, Militarism and Peace.

The proposed thematic areas:

- Militarism, War and Aggression

- Media, Information and Knowledge

- Democracy, Ecological and Economic Security

- Exclusions, Dignity and Rights
